A dilapidation inspection report (also known as a Property Condition Survey) records the condition of a property at a specific point in time. It documents any existing visible damage and the state of areas that are likely to be affected by nearby construction work, excavation, or demolition.
It is commonplace and advisable for a dilapidation report to be completed on the subject property and adjoining properties prior to the commencement of works and again at completion. When the before and after reports are compared, a clearer picture of any damage that may have occurred during construction can be established.
